Lodi police

Tuesday, Aug. 12
6:21 p.m. — 600 block Wooster St., police responded to Discount Drug Mart, where store security had Christena Gayheart, 27, West Salem, in custody. Police said her bag had stolen items in it totaling more than $100. She was charged with theft.

Wednesday, Aug. 13
12:30 p.m. — 100 block West Drive, police responded to Knott Brake Co. about theft of 30 pounds of copper wire ends and 80 pounds of transformer wire.

Thursday, Aug. 14
7:30 a.m. — Elyria Street, theft of 3-month-old puppy reported. Police reported a neighbor identified two boys who were seen with the dog. Police said one of the boys told police he walked past the residence and the dog followed him. The dog was returned to its owner.

Wadsworth police

Friday, Aug. 15
2:06 a.m. — 100 block High St., police responded to a report of a man running around the street naked. Alexander Taylor, 19, Parma, charged with public indecency.
8:28 a.m. — 100 block Fairview Ave., all-terrain vehicle reported stolen. Police reported the ATV was recovered and charges are pending.
1:31 p.m. — 100 block Watrusa Court, disturbance reported. Following an investigation, police arrested Micah Zielinski, 18, Rittman, on assault charge.

Saturday, Aug. 16
2:33 a.m. — 100 block Reams Court, domestic dispute reported. Justin Coffee, 23, charged with violating a protection order and domestic violence.

Sunday, Aug. 17
2:40 a.m. — North Lyman Street, police arrested and charged Adam Morris, 32, Rittman, with operating a vehicle impaired.
3:56 a.m. — Sparrow Way, Robert Beller, 29, Rittman, charged with theft.
8:50 p.m. — State Route 57, Pamela Browne, 47, Rittman, stopped for a traffic violation and charged with operating a vehicle impaired.

Monday, Aug. 18
11:44 p.m. — West Street, police arrested and charged John Shultz, 70, 100 block Baldwin Street, Wadsworth, with operating a vehicle impaired.


Stranger discovered on couch

An Aspen Oval woman was surprised to wake up Sunday morning and find a stranger sleeping on her couch.

According to a Brunswick police report, a woman in the 1200 block of Cross Creek Drive got up at about 6 a.m. Sunday to let her dog outside. She saw a man sleeping on the couch and assumed it was her brother, who lived with her. When she checked on him, she discovered it was a man she did not know. She woke up her brother and asked him if he knew the man on the couch. He said he did not so she called police.

When police arrived, they had difficulty waking up Eric L. Stewart, 23, also of the 1200 block of Cross Creek Drive. After he was awake, he told officers he drank heavily the night before and thought he had entered a friend’s house.

Police determined the front door had been left unlocked the night before.

Stewart was charged with criminal trespassing and disorderly conduct. At 6:37 a.m., police gave him a Breathalyzer test that showed he had 0.137 blood-alcohol content.

Brunswick police

Wednesday, Aug. 13
11:14 a.m. — 4000 block Laurel Road, Vito V. Gance-Falkman, 25, served with a warrant at his home charging him with felony drug possession.
3:15 a.m. — 1100 block Queens Ave., Jared J. Peronek, 21, called police and requested they come to his home and arrest him. Police arrived at his home on Queens Avenue and found him near his garage shouting. He was intoxicated and shouting loudly at police to take him to the Medina County Jail. Police asked him several times to cease his loud behavior and return to his home, a report said. He then calmed down and went inside his home. Moments later, he returned outside and began screaming obscenities at police. He was arrested and issued citations for persistent disorderly conduct and misuse of the 911 emergency system.

Friday, Aug. 15
12:30 a.m. — 3500 block Center Road, Robert J. McCaulley, 56, 4700 block Zachary Trail, Brunswick, cited with persistent disorderly conduct after police said he caused a disturbance in the emergency room at the Cleveland Clinic. A police report said the man was transported to the Clinic after he fell off a stool at a Brunswick bar. He was combative with staff and yelled obscenities while being cared for, and staff at the hospital called police for assistance.
1:48 a.m. — Parschen Parkway and Center Road, Kathleen E. Schneider, 28, 1600 block of Weigel Road, Liverpool Township, charged with operating a vehicle impaired, a marked lane violation, drug abuse and possession of drug paraphernalia. Officers reported she acknowledged consuming alcohol and she had 0.211 blood-alcohol content.

Sunday, Aug. 17
4:31 a.m. — Hadcock and Center roads, Jeff E. Brown, 39, 3800 block Alice Street, Brunswick, charged with operating a vehicle impaired, weaving and a marked lane violation. Brown had 0.141 blood-alcohol content, according to police.
11 a.m. — 3200 block Fillmore Drive, a $600 radio system, USB cords, $20 in gift cards and three needles reported stolen from inside an unlocked car. A police report said the needles were taken from inside a nursing kit used by the victim for work.

Tuesday, Aug. 19
5:08 a.m. — 4200 block Manhattan Circle, Melissa L. Ryder, 30, and Michael D. Karohl, 35, arrested at their home for outstanding warrants. Both had warrants charging them with theft and breaking and entering, and Ryder had a warrant charging him with forgery. According to police reports, the couple entered an unlocked office in the 600 block of Broadway Street in Medina in June and took a purse from inside. Ryder later forged a check she had taken from the purse, according to reports.


Medina police

Wednesday, Aug. 6
3:50 a.m. — Hickory Grove Drive, officers located a juvenile, who was returned to his mother.
1:52 p.m. — 1200 block of N. Court St., business owner reported there was a theft of grease from the property.

Friday, Aug. 8
7:38 a.m. — 400 block Broadway Street, resident reported damage to a newly poured concrete pad.
7:51 a.m. — 600 block Stratton Drive, damage to mailbox reported.
3:51 p.m. — 200 block Highland Drive, reports of a man lying in a wooded area. He was transported to Summa Health Center.

Sunday, Aug. 10
7 p.m. — 300 block Abbeyville Road, woman reported kids were destroying her chain-link fence. The juveniles were charged with criminal damage, a second-degree misdemeanor.

Medina Twp. police

Thursday, Aug. 7
1:56 p.m. — 3800 block Reeves Lane, woman reported her purse was stolen.

Montville Twp. police

Thursday, Aug. 7
10:53 p.m. — 5400 block Stillwood Drive, resident reported someone was threatening to blow up his car and harm him physically. Police responded with extra patrols in the area.
