Police said Thursday they are still searching for an individual after an incident Wednesday at restaurants on Medina Road near Interstate 71.
Medina Township Police Chief Dave Arbogast told The Gazette the incident began at Bob Evans on Medina Road and continued to Denny’s, also on Medina Road.
Arbogast said three individuals were arrested. Names and details of charges were not immediately released.
A fourth individual could not be located.
Capt. David Center of the Medina County Sheriff’s Office, who is handling the investigation, could not be reached Thursday. Lt. Matthew Neil of the Montville Township Police Department said the sheriff’s office is expected to release a statement on Monday.
The nearby Medina County Achievement Center, 4691 Windfall Road, was advised by the Medina County Sheriff about a search for an individual in the area and went on lockdown.
“We take health and safety very seriously,” said Annie Finnerty, director of quality systems at the center.
Community Relations Coordinator Patti Hetkey said the school went under lockdown Wednesday afternoon about 1:45 p.m., continuing until about 2:45 p.m.
Even though the school was not believed to be in any danger, Hetkey said outer doors were secured as safety precautions.
Medina Township Police, the Ohio Highway Patrol, Medina County Sheriff and Montville Township Police were involved in Wednesday’s search.
